Carolina Community Actions serves York, Lancaster, Chester, Fairfield and Union counties in South Carolina, providing assistance to low income individuals and families .... assistance that will help them get through today and work toward tomorrow.
We provide relief and aid to the elderly, while helping families with the difficult tasks of working through problems that threaten the family’s welfare, identifying solutions, and implementing changes.
We offer crucial early education of children through Head Start programs; and for those young people or teenagers who need to regroup and make up for lost time, we help them through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) to get their GED or high school diploma so they can find work. The Community Service Block Grant (SCBG) provides us with the means to provide assistance for program-eligible households in areas such as education, employment, self-sufficiency, income management, housing, emergency services, nutrition, health and safety.
